Walking outside in a Kaye Walker

This is Mariah's loaner walker from her new PT.  Its a Kaye and this one has regular wheels.  We ordered Mariah a custom Kaye walker with all terrain tires last week so she can navigate outside on rougher surfaces more easily.  She does pretty well with the regular tires, but the all terrain ones should really have her running around!

The Kaye walker does not come in any colors other than this shiny metal chrome.  This was going to be a problem as Mariah thinks everything should come in pink.  Even minivans.

However, my husband's brother works at a body shop so he is going to customize her new walker into a a shiny sheen of metallic, glittery, hot pink glamorazma that Barbie herself would be proud of.

The idea of the walker is that she'll build up her stamina and eventually realize she doesn't really need it and just take off walking outside on her own.  Right now though, she gets nervous, tenses up, walks really stiff and ends up falling over.  When she has a hard time walking, she doesn't want to walk.

What she's been doing is just refusing to go outside or going outside and finding somewhere to sit down.  THIS walker is perfect.  She loves using it so now she's running around playing hide-and-go-seek with her brothers :)

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life; but those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny; and placed among us by God's very own hands. --Kristi Larson
