There is no #4

I just wanted to let everyone know now that we are here and sure of it.  There is not going to be a #4.  The youngest brother (the baby) was adopted by Ukrainians (we think) before we got here.  Yes, we're sad, upset, etc.  There is nothing more we can do except to adopt the 3 that we accepted the referral for in Kyiv.  Because we fundraised our adoption expenses I feel like I should also let everyone know that the expenses really weren't much different for 3 vs 4.  We had hoped that there was a mistake and he was still here, but he's not.  We're over the moon happy with the 3 boys we do have though :)

We haven't told our kids back in the U.S. yet since they were expecting a baby brother.  We don't want to break that news while we are not there to comfort them.

I was afraid of that. How awful is it to split them up?! At least the three older boys will be together forever. <3

Really awful. We truly wanted to keep them all together.

I am really happy for you that you have your three boys, especially the two that you gave hosted twice! But it is really sad that the fourth brother has been separated from the others :-( ! Really really awful.

I'm sorry to hear this. On the bright side, he has found a forever home and is hopefully off to a good start. Any chance you can form a relationship with his new family and the kids can stay in touch over the years?

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life; but those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny; and placed among us by God's very own hands. --Kristi Larson
