New Special Shoes

M calls her AFOs "special shoes." She has called them that since we got her first pair right after adopting her.  Well, her doctor decided it was time to try SMO's.  She is doing so great and is excited about shorter braces :). She got casted for the new ones at her last appointment.

Wow- I think you posted this just for me today! I have been following your adoption story, but didn't realize your little lady had "special shoes". My daughter starts serial casting and then a few years of AFOs in a couple of weeks. Sounds like you've had some experience with this!

Yes, I write about M's CP under the label "cerebral palsy." There are a ton of posts on my blog about her. We've done serial casting, botox, and lots of AFOs!

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life; but those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny; and placed among us by God's very own hands. --Kristi Larson
