Mirror Reversal Dyslexia : what it looks like

M did these math problems on her own time and the MATH is right (mostly).  She can read to me what she meant. Top rigjt is 18-4=14
Left side is 12-4=8

But do you see what she struggles with?

This is why schools should adequately screen for and provide programs FOR dyslexia.  Reading programs for the broad umbrella of "learning disability" do not help this.

We are currently having her continue to work with Dyslexia Games for reading and specifically beginning the workbook for number and letter reversals.

That's how my mother wrote but she was left handed ;)
They attached her left arm in her back and she had to learn to write with her right hand.
In fact all her 6 kids were dislexique some more then others and she believes it was because of that... We never knew very well our right and our left...
Doctors thought it was because we spoke english and french... But when I see this, I suppose it was her own dislecxia ?

So she is a real real left handed girl ;)
That won't help you !
But keep courage...
Even being dislexic we all turned out well...
It took more time but as I already told you long ago,
We all have great situations !
I was able to be a kinder garden teacher, a mother to 5
A song and music writer and now a book author...
I can still here my mother being so so upset with schools...
And me telling her : ok, I have a very poor spelling, but I don't want it to stop me writing !
Please don't give up !!!

Lots of brilliant people were dyslexic. Bell, Taussig, Tesla, Picasso, Gallileo. The unique perspective that makes certain aspects of learning so effort intensive also makes amazingly inventive creativity thrive.

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life; but those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny; and placed among us by God's very own hands. --Kristi Larson
